Tyson Issues Recall For 69,000 Pounds Of Chicken

Posted on

If you are anything like many families across this country, then you probably use Tyson foods at some point during the week or month. When they issued a recall on some of their products earlier this year, most people considered it a fluke. Now, though, they have issued another recall, this time on over 69,000 pounds of frozen chicken strips.

At Mayer & Rosenberg, P.C., we know that you never expect to be injured by a product you have used or consumed. If this happens to you or your loved ones, we are standing by and ready to help. Our qualified and experienced team will work to secure the compensation you deserve when you need a product liability lawyer in Kansas City.

What Happened Here?

Tyson, for the second time in 2019, issued a recall over its products. They said on their website that this move was purely “out of an abundance of caution.”

Why was the recall issued?

They received two reports from people who say they found metal inside the chicken strips, according to the US Department of Agriculture. The last thing anyone expects is to bite down on or swallow a piece of metal when they are eating chicken strips.

In many cases, the cause of these incidents can be pinpointed to a broken machine at the plant and the problem is fixed before any defective product ships out. However, that is not always the case.

How Bad Is The Problem?

The problem of faulty products goes well beyond just chicken. If we look at the government website that tracks current recalls in the United States, we see that there are currently hundreds of faulty products that have made it to the market. Aside from food and beverages, we see problems in medications, cosmetics, vehicles, appliances, tools, toys, and more.

Most often, the problems revolve around three things:

  • The product was poorly designed and this poses a risk to consumers.
  • There was a manufacturing error that altered the product from its original design.
  • The product was not labeled correctly, misleading consumers. This can deal with dosages, instructions, ingredients, warning labels, and more.

We are a consumer-driven society and should be able to trust the products on our shelves. However, there will always be occasions when defective products slip through the cracks. Any company or manufacturer responsible for faulty products should be held accountable when they cause injuries.

If There Is An Injury

We know that dealing with an injury or illness caused by a defective product can be difficult, but we want to help. At Mayer & Rosenberg, P.C., we understand the laws behind these cases and are ready to fight for the compensation you deserve. This can include:
