The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, known as OSHA for short, is the body that oversees most incidents and issues that occur between you the employee, and your employer. It oversees a number of conflicts and will step in if a work environment is too dangerous, or if management is not supplying up-to-date information, equipment, safety training, and so on to prevent possible accidents.
Essentially, if you have any reason to believe that the conditions in which you work are either unhealthy or unsafe, you can file a complaint with OSHA. This will trigger an investigation in which OSHA will inspect your workplace to see whether or not the allegations are correct and determine the extent of any potential damage. Though they encourage you to bring the issues to your employer first, there is an understanding that sometimes this course of action is simply not feasible or the wisest move to make. OSHA will step in when a complaint is filed and protect you through whistleblower rights and protection.
