DUI accident in Missouri takes lives, leaves driver injured

Dealing with drunk drivers in Missouri can negatively impact a person in both the short and long term. Unfortunately, it is all too common that the reckless actions of one person ends up ruining the lives of innocent bystanders, or even snatching those lives away entirely.

This is the case with a recent crash which involved a driver who was arrested on multiple charges. These charges include things like driving the wrong way on a road, and driving while intoxicated. The woman was taken to a medical facility, though the brunt of the physical damage was dealt to the people in the opposing car, two of whom were killed.

This is why the woman will be facing involuntary manslaughter charges in addition to her DUI and reckless driving charges. Two passengers in the opposite car were declared dead at the scene after their vehicle was struck head-on as the woman drove down the wrong side of the road. The driver of that vehicle sustained severe injury as well. Though he was also taken to the hospital to be treated, his current medical state is unknown, and it is unknown if his injuries are life threatening.

Drunk driving accidents can happen in the blink of an eye and can cause massive amounts of physical, mental and emotional damage to anyone who gets tangled up in it. Anyone who has been involved in a DUI-related accident may wish to contact an attorney in order to discuss what options are available to them in regard to compensation.
