Independence car accident leaves 1 injured
When driving at night, it is important for people in Kansas City to pay particular attention to their environment. Visibility is a constant challenge and often, people assume they can safely travel at the same speed or engage in the same behaviors as during daylight hours. They use their phone to send texts, drive when they are too tired to and focus their mind on other things. However, such actions can lead to tragedy and create turmoil in an innocent victim’s life.
It is unknown what led to a head-on crash that recently occurred in Independence. The at-fault driver apparently was driving through a road-work zone and failed to see a worker’s truck heading the opposite way. The worker in the truck was transported to a hospital with injuries to his face and head but is expected to eventually return to work.
There was no mention of whether there were other vehicles on the road at the time of the accident, which occurred in the early morning hours. The worker, a night supervisor, was there to oversee the cleaning of a median barrier. A spokesman for the Missouri Department of Transportation credited the survival of the worker to the fact that he was wearing a seatbelt.
An unexpected accident can leave people unable to work. Additionally, they are no longer able to support their families and may incur additional debt and financial challenges as a result. Therefore, they may find it helpful to sit down with an attorney and discuss what options are available to them.
